Subject: Magic
A near perfect show. The Mountains of the Moon > Dark Star is pure magic. A definite highlight is when St. Stephen veers off into Lovelight. The Eleven is incredible as well and a definite standout. Listen to the end of It's a Sin and see if you can hear what sounds like the guitar riff that opens WRS. Just my imagination?

Subject: Easy Rider Meets The Avalon
The entire show encapsulates the era, the times and the vibe of what was happening at the time. Hippy music on acid - played both sweetly and hard on the edge. There is a mix of peace and violence that swings back and forth through the show.

I heard this show on XM Radio in its entirety and it is mesmirizing and powerful. The culmination of the sound and songs that the band started with and carried through 1969. A Pigpen style show that Jerry plays sharp and on the edge.

A precursor of the move towards the sound of Workingmans and American Beauty yet also the start of the move away from the songs and sounds of 1966-68.

Subject: very good!
intro through dark star is insane. doin' that rag is excellent as is it's a sin. sound is great. i've listened to the other copy many times, but not lately so cannot offer a comparison...but it sure does not suck to have 2 copies to choose from.

"okay, we've got ten minutes! What do you want to hear that takes ten minutes?" those days must have been the shit!

I firmly believe this is one of the hottest shows in the Archive. The acoustic Dupree and Mountains that segues into electric Dark star is over the top! Stepen and Lovelight are top-notch......Buzz saw style, slowed down Hard to Handle with Pig just laying it down...The Cosmic Charlie/China Cat affair is a three ring circus of sound....and then the big guns come out....find out for yourself---listen to all the cat-calls and shrieks throughout the show..this SBD is ALIVE!!! Powerful, shamnic, utterly transcendent night w/ the Dead, to be sure. Incredible to hear such a crisp, sweet board so many moons later......this version has a lil' more oomph and is a touch more clear than the other, more reviewed upload. Thanks for this one!!!!
